THORATEC 102956 CentriMag Pump Motor (Abbott CentriMag / PediMag)

The Thoratec (now Abbott) CentriMag Motor, REF 102956, is the reusable drive unit of the CentriMag Acute Circulatory Support System. It attaches to the CentriMag console and magnetically levitates and spins the impeller of the disposable CentriMag or PediMag blood pump, providing extracorporeal circulatory support with no bearings or seals in the blood path. Abbott’s current product catalog lists the 102956 motor for use with the 2nd-generation CentriMag Console and with both CentriMag and PediMag blood pumps. Motors of this type are commonly purchased by hospital perfusion departments, biomedical/clinical engineering groups as spares, and by research and training labs.
